The goal of the project was to help wedding photographers like Kartik get new clients, as a new photographer.

Understanding the Target Audience

We identified a problem within Oral Healthcare, and developed a high level understanding about the audience.

There are about 5,000 new wedding photographers that emerge each year. 58% of new wedding photographers can't fill up their schedules.

Saturated market

Wedding photography is a competitive industry, and it's really hard for new photographers to penetrate the market.

High cost to entry

It costs a photographer approximately $10,000 to start their business.

No standard of quality

Many photographers struggle to grow because they're not able to verify their quality of work to clients.

Scuto helps photographers find new clients, and manage their entire booking cycle.

Scuto helps wedding photographers manage their entire business - end to end on a single platform, while also getting new clients through our platform.

Scuto connects clients that are looking to hire a photographer with reliable and verified wedding photographers.

My Responsibilities

Our team worked together to chat with photographers, and people that faced challenges with hiring photographers - especially during stressful wedding seasons. I was mainly responsible for finding online communities to reach out to people to chat with. I also built our early prototype to test with users.

Finding communities with photographers that actively share their opinions and experiences.

Using Figma and Dribble to create a prototype which could be tested with users.

Initial Research

We joined a facebook group with photographers based in Toronto. With our first post explaining Kartik's problem, we had over 96 people comment their frustrations. We used this feedback to build a group that provides us their feedback.

Scuto failed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, which hindered our ability to help wedding photographers. Due to COVID disruption, we had to bootstrap and pivot to SnapSmile.
